The Ever Changing Hairstyles of a Teenager

This week the 3 younger kids have been attending another local VBS and having a great time! On Monday while the kids were there I took my eldest dd13(JoJo) to get her hair cut. She decided to cut 10 inches off her hair (donating to locks of love) and get a bob style. She also decided with my help, lol, to dye her hair back to her root color & then add subtle highlights. Good bye to the red streaks in her hair. They looked pretty, but I was ready for them to go. See the before and after pictures below.

This was right after the last appointment in February 2012

These were Monday during & then after her appointment was finished.

It was a pretty drastic change, but that is her personality. I should just start getting used to that now. I don't have a problem with dd13 expressing her style on her hair. I just remind her of the damage that is being done to her hair by dyes and such. These are choices I don't mind letting her have somewhat control over. The rule is I must be there with her, and I approve colors and hair cut styles. IF the coloring is done right, I don't mind a little playfulness with color. I'd rather her experiment with her hair with our guidance then show up one day after she leaves home with bright pink and black hair. LOL.

  1. Blue and pink are big colors for hair in Germany...I am contemplating electric blue highlights :)
