Wow! I Have My Own Space!

I am so excited to finally start my own blog! I have been following so many blogs over the years, wishing I could eventually have my own and here it is! I have learned so much from reading blogs about families just like ours, who are moving through the toddler years and then the elementary years. Amazing that now we are in the teen years with one of our children. I don't even know where to begin.

Well I guess I should start with who I am. My name is Denielle. I am wife to an amazing man who is so very patient, loving, and kind. I thank God for him every day! We have 4 wonderful, very energetic children. dd 13, dd 8, ds 7, ds 5. We have been homeschooling for 7 years now. It has been quite a journey! DD 13 has had many different homeschooling options come across her desk in 7 years and we think we have finally found what we've been looking for. We like to try new things and not be tied down to a desk for long. Finally we have a style of homeschooling that meets the needs of our children with lots of flexibility and room for growth.

About a year ago our family made the decision to begin works on moving to a homestead of our own. There is just something to be said about raising your own food on pasture without all the additives, preservatives, antibiotics, etc. We are not sure when, where or how we are getting or own homestead, but I know it is in the Lord's hands. I have faith that God will move us in His timing and it will be a perfect time. For I know the plans I have for you...Jeremiah 29:11.

We are so excited to learn about homesteading and more about gardening. I think we already have a petting zoo in our back yard. We have chickens, rabbits with lots of kits (bunnies), our cat, Brie with kittens (not named yet), and our dog, Roxi. Our children have names for almost all the animals, but I cannot keep up with them all. We also have several gardens with about 50 different varieties of vegetables, fruit, edible flowers & herbs. All this on a 1/4 acre lot.
