So this year, in February to be exact, I decided to use a free wall calendar that we got in the mail. I filled in all our appointments, plans, activities, church stuff, field trips, everything into those little boxes (in pencil)! Then I made sure it was on my desk always! I figured that if I could keep a calendar for the rest of the school year I would be worthy enough for one of those eloquent planners that I can carry around in my purse and use anywhere I go. So that's what I did.
I used this calendar for the rest of the school year. I even dug out a planner that my sister gave me earlier in the year and used that along with the calendar. Worked great! It even had a place for a menu & shopping list. (Note: those planners do not have enough space for menus or shopping lists)
After following my calendar for 4 months in May I started looking for a planner. One that will do all the fantastic things I need. So I made a list in my mind of what it needs to have.....
- Inexpensive
- Holds detailed homeschool plans for 4 children.
- A section for homeschool plans for us to complete together as a family.
- To Do lists (multiple)
- Shopping Lists that I have enough room to separate into stores/ sections of the grocery store
- Menu section for breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks
The average price for any of the planners I found was $35 with shipping. Then I remembered a planner that a friend had shown me. It was called The Well Planned Day. It had everything on my list. I checked out the website for the planner and I was blown away. The planner was almost everything I needed and they had planners for my teenager too. Awesome, a planner for her to hang on to and be responsible for! This is even better! The combined cost of the 2 planners was $38.
As I kept looking I found that they were coming out with a new didgital planner very soon. This one was the limo of all planners! This future planner really blew my mind. The whole family can use this planner, and for multiple years. It keeps all the records, menus, shoppong lists, to do lists, chores, activity schedules, calendars, curriculum, literature, grades & transcripts on all my kids just to name a few things it does. Until Aug 1st it is only $40 for the year! YES! This is the Planner we are getting!

The name of the planner is Well Planned Day Software, You can find it here. Granted the planner is in Beta testing and is a bit frustrating at times to navigate, but this planner is gonna turn out great! I have been working with this planner since June 4th and I love it. They are taking our suggestions and turning them into ideas for the planner. Every 10 days or so they have a Q&A to give answers to questions and get more ideas on how to improve on what they have built so far. Well Planned Day also has a Facebook page where you can see the ins and outs of the planner and the Q&As.
We are going to be planning this month....meals, family contributions (chores), school, filed trips, etc. Woo Hoo planning here we come! Just a little disclaimer: I do not have any affiliation with Well Planned Day or Home Educating Family. I just like to share things that impress me. This impressed me!
